Lilian
Lilian (Lilihan, Lylyan): Village located in the region of Arak in western Iran. The Lilian carpets are knotted by descendants of Armenian réfugiants who were forced to settle in the central Persian region, during the reign of Shah Abbas. Carpets from this region has the typical decor consisting of flower bouquets, influenced by nearby Sarough. They are generally thick and colorful where pink dominates. The pile in wool is often from the same country, good quality. The woof in cotton is simple.
