Ghaznavi neo-classic Fine

Mao of Afghanistan

Ghaznavi, passions of Khyber :

Magnificent neo-classical carpets, deorientalised creations inspired by the artistic golden eras of the Mogul dynasty, the Lori and the Persians, the 19th century Ziegler carpets, the Azeri and the Ottoman cultures, but in contemporary colour combinations such as corn-beige, strawberry, mint, ice-blu, silver-grey, terracotta, vermilion, and other varieties of red, chesnut, anthracite, aubergine, taupe. Hand-knotted unique rugs from Tukmen, Uzbekian and Tajik tribes.

Made initially in the nineties in the Khyber Pass region by refugees from Afghanistan and from 2005 in the middle and the north of afghanistan. Completely handmade with ecological, hand-spun wool, vegetable dyes, authentic centuries-old mastery and tradition.

Features:

- Knotted with Turkish knot (turkbaf).
- Density: from 900 to 1600 knots/dm².
- Handspun wool for the pile.

Note:

These carpets are often singular variations that may appear, depending on your point of view, either as a default or as a quality, but is anyway a strange characteristic: the color of certain motifs or the background sometimes varies from one place to another, and it may even change completely. This change of color, called "abrash" occurs mainly in carpets of old manufacture. The presence of "abrash" proves that the carpet was spun and dyed by hand. Indeed, it is difficult when dyed by craftsmen, to find the same color in two successive dye baths.
