In-depth traditional washing of carpet, kilims and tapestries.
Any residues of dust, sand, or gravel which have lodged in the base of the threads (for it is impossible to vacuum clean fully) are razor-sharp and can quickly damage the tapestry.
To avoid the premature demise of your tapestry it is imperative that you have the tapestry cleaned every 3 to 5 years in the traditional way and this work must be done by a specialist.
We ensure traditional washing, it is thus possible for you to entrust your carpet at us. You can bring us the carpet for cleaning at Mengal Orient in Namur, from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 18h. Collection and delivery service at home everywhere in Belgium: do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about it or by telephone: +32 (0) 81 230 630 or E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
The traditional way of cleaning consists of:
Beating the tapestry to avoid as much dust as possible.
Stabilising the colours so that they do not run during the cleaning process.
Wetting the tapestry completely and cleaning it with a chemical product to reduce and deter moths.
Rinsing thoroughly several times to clear the last residues.
Drying in a special tumbler.
Brushing in the direction of the pile.
Drying in a warm air channel.
To rebeat the carpet for the last time.
Equalize the point of the fringes so necessary.
